Join an inspiring TEDx-like afternoon to learn about the history of immigration from Slovakia and to meet Slovaks of greater Seattle area.
Get inspired by the untold story of how a group of Slovak-immigrants braved the unknown prairie-lands of Arkansas to become the present day’s largest producers of rice in America all without losing their Slovak culture. Deah Partak, the documentarist will join us all the way from Portland to share her findings on historical waves coming from Slovakia www.uprooted-media.com/

Whether you are a history buff or just curious about incredible moments in time, come to share the resilient spirit of Slovaks this Saturday.
The event is powered by SlovakPRO Seattle chapter. In greater Seattle area, we have started to bring Slovaks together just in 2024, joining NYC, Chicago, Boston, Austin, San Diego and Bay area.
At our previous two events in Seattle and Sammamish, it was decided to make this group inclusive regardless of the professions and generations. We like to learn from each other, across the value we create in our families, diverse sectors or own businesses. Slovak roots, curiosity and diverse aspirations connect us.
Family members are more than welcomed at this event, just be sure just to register everyone, so there will be enough chairs.
